Finally the day has arrived when Ruby woke this morning and tentatively asked 'Is today the day we go to grannies', I could answer yes! She is so excited and jumps out of bed to start packing her books and sorting out her dollies clothes. We drop Rivan...

Cows not like we know it

Different beds and surroundings gave for a somewhat disturbed night - so we all woke a little 'crispy' round the edges and tried to sneak downstairs so as not to wake the grandparents but this is easier said that done with two small kids! This afternoon...

Cousins

Breakfast for 7 today – it was a chilly night last night so too cold to eat outside in the garden so we all had breakfast in the lounge, the older cousins wanting the same colour yoghurt, the same bowl and the same spoon, the younger ones just wanting...

Fun in the sun

It’s been balmy and hot here the last few days and we have been making the most of it by spending time with our friends – simple pleasures of life. I believe that Rivan is starting to understand the concept of hot as he crawled across our friends decking...

Modern art

Looking back at a recent album the crèche had given me of when we did a painting course with Ruby when she was little made me remember how much she loved painting – the feeling of the wet cool paint between her toes, the slippery sensation on her feet...

New arrivals

5 new arrivals this morning, Crumpet was moved up into the paddock with Matron last night as her babies were due imminently – the swelling of Crumpets breasts told us that. This morning when we went out to feed the chickens there was no sign of Crumpet...

Saturday morning – no school, no crèche, no commitments so just taking the day as it comes. Spent the morning here feeding the animals and visiting the cows – not many in the barn down the road but enough to entertain the kids. Lunchtime a bit fractious...

Toy library

The toy library is such a fantastic idea – you pay 15 euros per child for the year and then you get to borrow 4 toys for up to a month. It is run by the same people who run the crèche and is open every Thursday – it is a safe place for the kids to go...

Sunny September Saturdays

Family days

A bycicle made for two!
