Lemon drizzle cake

Afternoon tea with a Karen today – so decided to have a go at making a lemon drizzle cake – it is one that my mum often makes and I always love the combination of the sharp lemon and the sweet crunchy sugar on the top so found the recipe on the internet...

Allez Allez Allez

Results back from the laboratory and all is negative which is good news but does not answer the mystery as to what are the lumps on Rivan. They have said to be really sure to re-test again in 3 weeks time – ho hum! We went strawberry picking this morning...

Taking the blood

Patches on each arm (just to have all bases covered) to reduce the pain – these are little patches put on before you have an injection; they help numb the pain and make it easier to take blood from little ones - in principal. I did not sleep well last...

Doctors for Rivan today to have his MMR jab, Ruby came with me and I told her that she would have to be very good and that Rivan might cry and I would have to hold him while the doctor gave him the injection – she wanted to know if she could sit on the...

Cousin David

It is not often that Ruby and Rivan get to see their cousins, in fact they have never met their cousins on my side of the family and I am not sure when this event will occur – sadly certainly not in the near future. Their cousin David is over visiting...

Friends, sunshine and laughter

The flower necklace that was placed round my neck last night (as proof that I had paid to get into see the fireworks) was quite a hit with Rivan who gave us his version of tropical dancing. Ruby wanted to feed Rivan’s teddy his breakfast in the garden...

Toy library

The toy library is such a fantastic idea – you pay 15 euros per child for the year and then you get to borrow 4 toys for up to a month. It is run by the same people who run the crèche and is open every Thursday – it is a safe place for the kids to go...

Swimming in the afternoon
