Bathing on the 1st October!!!

Who would have believed itif I had told them that on the 1st October it was up in the high 20's and wewere all swimming (alright not quite swimming for us mum's) in a nearby lake. Ben was working on our wood burner, ready forthe start of the work next...

Visit too short!

Wednesday and no school, pancakes for breakfast and we made sure that there was some batter left to make granddad a couple for his breakfast. 9 o clock came and went, so did 10 o clock - the kids were itching to see granddad and so we took a wander over...

What does hemp look like? Before I knew I thought that it would be green chopped up stalks, so was quite surprised to see that in fact it looked just like finely chopped straw. As the days pass (too quickly for Ben's liking) Ben is trying to get everything...

Daddy's taking us to the zoo today

A day off from working upstairs for Ben, as a birthday treat for Ruby we all went down to a zoo just south of Limoges, a day trip that we had been planning for a while but never got round to it. Loaded up and on the road by 10ish it was a rare opportunity...

Journee du patrimoine

Today is journee du patrimoine - which basically means that many large houses and chateaux which are not normally open to the public open up for just one day a year - it is probably due to the fact that if they do not do this then they do not continue...

Nurse!

When at school I decided to take technical drawing and wood work instead of sewing and cooking - I did try both but got really bored with the sewing class as we spent and entire hour just sewing the electric machine without any cotton to see how straight...

So with Ruby's party just around the corner (every morning she wakes now she asks how many more sleeps until by birthday?) we have turned our attention to making some pretty things to decorate the fence and the garden with. A quick trip to the local tip...

Meeting with the bank this morning so Ruby got to show Ben her changed about class room and for him to take her to school - the last day of a quick week. Meeting with the bank went well and they have approved the money we need to complete the building...

Early start this morning - although no school, a friend of Ruby's and her brother came round for the day - their mother was working today and rather than pay for a nanny I said that they could come and play here for the day so at 7.45am the door opened...

Drop one off and pick up two

Dropped Rivan off at crèche and collected two of our friends - their mother had to return to work but for them school does not start until Monday. Ruby was up lots in the night complaining of a sore tummy, she finally went to sleep about 1am so I knew...
