Spuds calling

Blood results in and all is good - a fine set of bloods according to Nurse Ben. This is great news on the one hand but on the other does not explain why I am still feeling the way I am. Scan booked for Monday morning so maybe this will give me some answers....

First dip of the year!

A bicycle made for two

One of the side effects of the antibiotics (rare) was a ruptured Achilles tendon and when I woke yesterday morning both my Achilles tendons were tingling so I have stopped the pills and am feeling much better - still not right but so much better than...

I have not been feeling great for the past few days and yesterday when I woke I knew it was going to be a day in bed for me - this does not happen often as I am not often ill and I HATE, JUST HATE being immobile. Luckily it was a school day today and...

Shared skills

Birthday carnival celebrations

Over the last few nights I have been making some fairy wings for her ladyship. Our neighbour gave me the metal coat hangers and some old stockings that did not fit any more and I set about getting creative with some paint, needle and thread and a feather...

Tea and cake in the garden

No school today so we had a leisurely breakfast (Ben working so just me and the kids). I then went to make some cakes. Ruby told me what I would need to get out of the cupboard - sugar, eggs, butter and flour - ahh no flour in the house so a little outing...

First cut of the season

Another glorious day, cold at night but with a light haze in the sky as we open the shutters this morning we just know that the sun is going to shine on us. I hope that this might be the start of spring, the cranes have already flown back which usually...

Spring in our steps

Spring time is soooo just around the corner, I can feel the sun warming our backs and faces and as we headed out yesterday Ruby made the comment "mummy the sun is tickling my face" - what a lovely way for a 3 year old to describe the feeling of spring...

First seeds of the year

It felt good to plant the first seeds of the year today; with the day to myself I arrived back about 11 from the supermarket. Dinner and lunch made, I head out into the garden with a bag of compost, plastic trays saved from our croissants and a box full...

Rare breeds

Already the second week into the school holidays - the weather has turned cold again, it has been windy but sunny today so a great day for drying some washing. All the visitors have departed now in Goumas (those with holiday homes who arrive in the holidays)...

Bedding day

Who said that housework was no fun ? I used to keep all the household chores to do on the days that the kids were at school or crèche but then I wanted to do other things (work in the garden, horse riding etc) so now we all do the jobs together – it takes...

How high can they go?

Tried making tiny chocolate muffins with my new silicone moulds and was delighted with the results. As the kids ate their lunch I did magic with my pink food colouring and turned white water icing into pink Icing right before their eyes! Ruby was impressed...

Swimming with the kids

Woke to a very foggy morning, Ben had left for work and I got the kids organised for their day – Rivan at the crèche and Ruby the last day at school before half term. As we headed out the front door both kids stood on the doorstep and started blowing...

On the head girl!

Thursday already - where has the week gone and I can't believe that it is half term tomorrow! Spent a lovely morning with Rivan getting animal feed and looking round a garden centre - it did not take him long to find the toy tractors and want to open...
